Direct Spark Ignition Problem

Question: Miller furnace, first the spark ign. would just keep ticking and I clean the flame sensor and it started up right away. then a few minutes it would shut off and then come on ago and continue this over and over. does the flame sensor need replacement or is it more and that. it there a way to check the flame sensor if it good or need just to be replaceed.
