Furnace Cleaning

Question: On 1/31/06 I had the ducts cleaned and sanitized and just recently noticed a big handful of dirt in one of the registers overhead. I called the company to come out and tell me what the problem was and they say I need to clean the blower and connection boxes. They also say I have mold and fungus in the furnace. How do I know if they are on the up and up?
