Furnace Makes A Loud Noise When Burners Ignite.

Question: My furnace is a 15 year old Carrier with a pilot light. The furnace is making a very loud noise when the burners ignite. It seems as though the gas is starting at the burners and building up before ignition. When it finally ignites it is very loud.
