Question: we have a newish gas boiler and have just had the hot water pump replaced. Since then the heating system wont turn off either by turning it off at the control panel or by turning down the thermostat. Please advise

Answer: Gas boilers maintain a temp at all times usually about 160 degrees. That is at the boiler. Some heat will disapate to some of the heaters but shouldnt be really noticable. If it seems like all the registers are heating then the wired your pump or t-stat wrong and the circulation pump is running constantly thus heating the house. Boilers maintain heat at the boiler but on a call for heat the circulation pump circulates the heated water to all the registers thus heating the house.
