Gas To Furnace

Question: I have a roof mounted heater/a/c unit. 1 year ago I replaced the ignitor. Works fine. Now when heater is turned on ignitor "clicks" normally but it takes an unusally long time for gas to start flowing. Is there a timer that may be getting worn? Sometimes ignitor will "click" with visible spark up to 1 minute or longer without gas flow.
