Repair Or Replace Duct Work

Question: My home was built in the 50's. So we have sheet metal duct work. We had the outside unit replaced a couple of years ago with an Electric only pump (was gas pack) There is no air circulating through the vents as of a few days ago, except in the hall bathroom which is very cold. My husband says its cheaper/easier to just replace the metal ducts with flex. Is this the best Idea? Or clean and repair the existing duct work?
