Title of Question:

1St Time Pool Owner. Pump Troubles. Pls Help!!

Name: terry  City:

Question: i don't know much about pool maintenance, though a couple of weeks ago everything seemed to be workin fine, i'd do exactly what i'd read/hear around, til suddenly some day the pump simply seemed to not be workin upon switchin it on, though i hear its usual "running" sound, no water seems to be pumped into or out of the pool n the pool cleaner remains idle. as a pool maintenance "dummy", i would really appreciate any feedback that could help my situation n know that i don't have to call the pool repair men ju$t yet

Answer: The pump needs to be primed, or the line is blocked. Make sure the skimmer is clean and if it is then open the cover on the pump where the strainer is and fill it with water. Close the cover and turn on the pump see if it will prime. Try it serval times. If this does not work then you may have to use the water hose to force water to the pump to prime it.

Answer: You may have blown a capacitor, which in my case would require a repairman!
