Question: Earlier this year we had to drain and refill our pool. I then noticed the pool and spa tempeture on the inside house panal indicated that the pool and spa was 185 degrees. I have was told to replace the temp sensor thermister (part #R0011800) which I did, the model is a "Laars Lite model LLD" and the pool was build in 1998. Unfortunately after the part replacement it did not fix the problem since at the panel inside the house is still showing the pool to be 185 degrees, therefore, the heater still does not want to lite up due to the high temp showing. Do you have any sudgestions as to what it may be wrong? I have asked the question to my local pool supplier (Leslie Pools)who recommended the replacement of the part above mentioned and they don't know. My pool contractor doesn't do house calls so practically I am on my own. I thank you very much and am looking forward to hear from you.

Answer: It sounds as though your problem is the Aqualink RS board at the outside panel. The temperature transorber on the board has failed and is reading an incorrectly. Unfortunately this is tricky to fix. You first need to see if the RS unit is still under warranty, if you installed it in 1998 then it is not. You can contact Jandy tech support by going to their website at www.jandy.com and seeing what they reccommend. Otherwise, you will have to call an authorized Jandy repair technician and you may need to buy a new circuit board for your controller.

Answer: I had same problem. You can disconnect the wires at the heater and move the heater wire to the same lead. Now Manuel heater operation. Careful no built in cool down mode. Dont turn pump off for one hour after heater turned off.
