Title of Question:

Hdmi

Name: Tony  City: Cincinnati

Question: I have been told two diiferent views about hdmi cables. My local retailer says they are without a doubt worth the extra $, while my cable company says they are just a hassle and dont make a difference. Can anybody help clear up things for me?

Answer: The cable company likes to say that because most of their boxes, actually having a DVI output, have been put out without the DVI port actually working. But, truthfully, using the HDMI or DVI or DVI to HDMI cable is definately worth it, because if you weren't to use the HDMI or DVI, you will be using your component cables, which is a compressed High Definition picture, whereas the HDMI or DVI is totally uncompressed. As a home theater installer, I always put these cables in. Call if you have any more questions. 845-674-5376

Answer: I can say, without a doubt the HDMI cable is worth the $. I just hooked up my HDTV with a DVI out from the cable box to the HDMI in on the TV. The picture is much crisper than with the coaxial cable alone.
