Remove A Jacuzzi Faucet.

Question: I have a Jacuzzi Tub that is around 19 years old. The faucet is just a regular faucet just larger/longer. It has a set screw on the underside at the base that I thought if I took it out it would come off but it did not. Maybe I am not pulling hard enough. Before I start applying alot of force to pull it off I wanted to make sure the right aproach so I won't damage the current plumbing. Can you tell me how I should go about removing this? Thanks,
