Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care Washer Flooding

Question: Washer has worked fine for last year. Last week while doing routine load of laundry. It flooded the room with 30-40 buckets of water during filling. Water spilled out of the "Drain In" area in the back of the machine. What causes this? what is the remedy?
