Question: The "non-opening side" of my double front doors (8 ft. tall) had an accident (you don't want to know), and its lower lock (which pushes down into the floor) is now very misaligned and the actual wood above it is cracked upward for about 4 inches. To help explain the location, this damage is vertical, up and down the 2" depth of the door panel. Seems like I could glue and clamp it (after realigning the lock), but then I couldn't close the door as long as the clamp was on. (Dogs, cats, skunks, etc. could walk into the house!) What is the best and most lasting way to repair this damage? Thanks!
