Covered Patio - Dryer Exhaust

Question: I would like to cover our concrete patio. How would I handle our gas dryer exhaust vent. All I can think of is have a window opened each time I have the dryer on. It would be too long of a distance to place a vent adapter. What kind of problems would I have by closing the patio with the dryer exhaust?
