Question: How close should branches of a french drain be? in CA, with clay soil (east bay area). Fairly level lot with drain in coner. I want to install a french drain before I create a large (10x20') patio.

Answer: I would say there are no hard or fast rules as to closeness of branches. Put in as many as you think will be needed cope.
