Back Flow

Question: Hello,I have fitted a thermostatic mixer shower which should have gravity feed hot and cold.The hot is gravity feed from combination copper cylinder but the cold is mains pressure(OOPS).I am exsperiancing back flow back up the hot pipe to the cylinder which is almost continually discharging via the overflow pipe.Could you please inform me on how I can get around this problem without major exspence or upheaval.ie non return valve,pressure reducing valve.Regards Jane
