Title of Question:

Bad Seam On Copper Plumbing

Name: Eric  City:

Question: A seam is bad on my copper plumbing and it's dripping. Can I put flux around the outside of pipe and solder around it? Does it matter that water is in the pipes? I'd hate to cut the pipes and put a new joint in if I didn't have to? Thanks.

Answer: You'll have to clean up all the solder on the joint. Get all (or as much as you can)of the water out first.
