Answer: hot and cold shower faucets are leaking. There are no washers or springs to replace. Just a long plastic thing-a-ma-jig that fits over another plastic inside. How do I fix it?

Answer: I removed my hot/cold unit, turned off the water to the entire house and still found that my shower was leaking from the faucet. So, basically the plastic thing-a-ma-jig was off and it was still leaking.
Any ideas?
