Noise In Pipes

Question: Recently we started hearing a noise in the plumbing that sounds like a clicking noise. Mostly located on the second floor of a 2 story home. It does not happen that frequent and it tends to go away if a faucet is opened. Also when a faucet is opened or a toilet is flushed there is a noise that sounds like air is running through the pipes. We have a well system and It appears that the pressure gauge is reading where it should be unless it is wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks
