Question: I have a Jacuzzi ST sand filter on my pool. I shut it off and turned it to backwash; shut it off and turned it to rinse; then shut it off and returned it to filter - the same process I've used for years. However, now there is water still coming from the backwash/rinse hose. A lot of water. It's like the backwash/rinse valve never got completely closed. I have repeated the process many times hoping that it was just stuck, but the water keeps flowing. I now have to keep the backwash hose emptying into the pool so the pool won't empty while filtering. My question is, do I have to buy a whole new filter or can someone tell me if it is just a gasket or seal or valve that has gone bad? Maybe something that is easy to fix myself or is a repairman required? The filter is about 7 years old. I know nothing about these things and would appreciate any help!
