Do I Have A Mold Problem?

Question: I recently found (what appears to be) mold on some recently washed clothing. Thinking nothing of it I ignored it until I more recently found (what appears to be) mold on dishes that just came out of my dishwasher. There are no other visible signs of mold in my home. My water source is a cistern (sp?) which we fill with city water (but also receives drainage from the gutters). Any ideas where this is coming from or what it is?

Answer: Are you sure your roofing material is not shedding some particles into your cistern? It sounds like you may need to clean your cistern and/or install a sediment filter on the incoming water line. That isn't too hard. I did one of those myself when I had a well with rusty particles in it. Also, material in your gutters could easily have mold on it. Keep them super clean.
