Soffit, Facia And Down Spout Replacement

Question: I have an older 1000 sq foot home that needs the soffits, backer board, metal facia, and gutters replaced. At the front of the home there is also wood on the top half of the wall (the rest is stucco) which they are going to replace with vertical siding. I have been given a quote of $3138. Do you think this is a reasonable price?

Answer: When replacing the soffit vents on a stacked cedar building there are gaps at the channel. Should these gaps be caulked or sealed? After the installation the rafter joices and insulation are now visible. My concern is insect infestation in they are not sealed.
