Answer: Lots of work! Best to get an item caled a "Tiger" (I think) at a wallpaper/paint type store. These are handheld with a couple of toothed wheels that will gouge the paper, not the wall. This will allow your wallpaper remover paste (which you buy at the same time/place) to get under the paper and break down the glue. Then start scraping. Sometimes adding a steam bath to the wall will help.
