Remodeling your child’s room can feel like a never-ending project. While the essential elements—bed, dresser, flooring, moldings—might easily stay the same from preschool through senior year, others definitely need to evolve over time. Needless to say, the Blue’s Clues-themed comforter and curtains that were so cute to little Johnny at age five will be a huge embarrassment at age 16.

You could always complete a simple remodel with a coat of paint or a roll of wallpaper. But why not do something even more special that’s just as easy? Two words: wallpaper murals.

Back in the day the only way to get a high-quality mural on the wall involved paying big bucks for a professional artist. Today you can find wallpaper murals of all styles and sizes online or in stores. Check out just a few examples:

Three Seasons Wallpaper Mural Sticker Set

This simple yet colorful wallpaper mural set includes everything you’ll need to create an outdoor scene. The best part is that the stickers can be moved and removed to reflect the changing seasons. Bring in the clouds, remove some leaves, and you’ve got autumn. Add more leaves, grass, and butterflies and you’re ready for spring.

Pirate Ship Full Wall Mural

A’hoy mateys! For the boy—or girl!—obsessed with pirates and the deep blue sea, what could be more thrilling than a full wall mural featuring a beach and a huge pirate ship? Complete with a treasure chest full of gold and jewels, this wallpaper mural will immediately change the look of a child’s room.

Your Favorite Photo

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Have an unusual theme in mind? Several companies give you the option to use your own photo to create a custom wallpaper mural. Whether you cover your child’s wall with a picture of your favorite vacation spot or your pet dog, anything goes!

Kids love it when the parents are really into helping them redecorating their bedrooms. I love the idea of wallpaper murals. It’s really fun and makes a great themed bedroom. Kids love to have a signature in their rooms.
