Turning Off Your Electricity
Disabling the electricity to your home is simple. Most breaker boxes are located in a basement or outside the house near the utility meters. There are three types of breaker boxes: the lever switch (A), the pull-out fuse box (B), and the single main circuit box (C).
With the lever switch fuse box, simply pull the lever down to the off position. It is just as simple to turn off the single main circuit breaker: just flip the main breaker switch to read "Off." The pull-out fuse block variety requires you to pull out and remove the blocks in order to disable the power supply.
