How To Choose A Pool Builder

When making a decision on the company that will build the dream pool that can be enjoyed by family and friends or update the pool you already have for a spa and/or hot tub be sure to carefully look at the company's history. Ask yourself: will the pool and the company stand the test of time?

Equipment and Techniques
Like any consumer product, swimming pools are only as good as the parts and labor that is put into them. And like every consumer product, your pool won't be as good as new forever. Make sure that the company you choose uses the highest standards. This might not be the cheapest option, but any company that insists on the best is a company that takes pride in its work.

You'll also want to look for a pool builder or contractor that is a member of the National Spa and Pool Institute. Membership with this organization helps to ensure that your pool builder is qualified and experienced.

Keeping Good Company
Other things you will need to take into consideration when choosing a builder include:

  • How long the company has been in existence
  • How experienced the pool builder is
  • The size of the company
  • The type of pools the builder has constructed in the past

As always, be sure to ask any builder you are considering for references before you hire them. Call any references given to you.
