Swimming Pool Glossary: Turbidity

What is Turbidity?
The presence of cloudy water in your pool is caused by small, floating particles that can't be picked up by your filter. Referred to as turbidity, this may seem like a small thing, but you should not ignore this problem.

Treating Turbidity
In order to improve the turbidity of your water, try using oxidizers. These include calcium hypochlorite, chlorinated isocyanurates, and sodium hypochlorite.

You can also add chemicals to your water which will force these little particles together and allow the filter to pick them up. Try organic polymer or alum.
