Remodeled Kitchen

Want to add some new life to your bland kitchen? Looking to increase the value of your home? Then why not re-do your kitchen? Here are some tips that will help you choose which kitchen remodeling project is good for your unique needs and budget.

Kitchen Styles Planning

Cabinet/Counter Upgrade

By far the most economical choice when it comes to redoing a kitchen, this option involves updating your cabinets and countertop. To do this, you can either completely overhaul what you have by buying entirely new hardware or you can simply repaint the cabinets, both inside and out.

The cost of this project will vary depending on just what you do, the size of your kitchen and the materials you use.

Standard Kitchen - Straight Wall

If space is limited, then the straight wall kitchen is the way to go. With this design, all your appliances, cabinets and, of course, the kitchen sink are placed along the same wall. This allows for maximum efficiency without taking up a lot of space in your home. It is also an ideal design for smaller, open-concept homes.

Expect to pay around $9,500.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.

Standard Kitchen - Corridor Styled

The corridor styled kitchen is similar to the straight wall kitchen except that the sink is located on the wall opposite the appliances. Again, you get efficient use of space without using a lot of space. Moreover, by placing the sink on the opposite wall, you get added counter space. This design is great for small kitchens and homes.

Expect to pay around $21,210.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.

Standard Kitchen - L-Shaped

If you wold like to take advantage of the floor space you have, perhaps for an eat-in kitchen, then consider putting in an L-shaped kitchen. Just as it sounds, this type of kitchen places all of your appliances and work space on to two adjoining walls. While you may not have as much counter space as you would with a corridor styled kitchen, you do get a lot of floor space with these kitchens.

Expect to pay around $11,500.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.

Standard Kitchen - U Shaped

Although a U-shaped kitchen takes up three walls for your kitchens appliances, you have a lot of free counter space on which you can work. Many people prefer this design as it allows them a large work area without compromising their floor space. Additionally, this lay-out is able to support the triangle floor placement of your stove, fridge and sink.

Expect to pay around $18,900.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.

Standard Kitchen - Peninsula

If you're one of those lucky people with a large kitchen, you may want to change your layout to include a peninsula. Thanks to the peninsula, you have extra work space as well as an eat in food bar area. However, you do need to have a large kitchen for this design; a peninsula can take up a lot of floor space. So avoid this layout if your kitchen is about the same size as your clothes closet.

Expect to pay around $19,600.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.

Standard Kitchen - Island Styled

Although it is one of the most expensive kitchen layouts there is, a kitchen island can help make your kitchen more efficient and functional. The island is located in the middle of the room and often has a sink, range top and/or a dishwasher installed into it. However, because the appliances and cabinetry usually need to be custom made for the island, the cost of this kitchen can get a bit pricey.

Expect to pay around $21,400.00 with new appliances, including a dishwasher.
