A Small Kitchen Remodel: Cabinet Refacing, Countertops, and Lighting

I had a few goals that I wanted to accomplish with this kitchen remodeling project. First, I wanted to reface my cabinets by painting them completely white. This would make my cabinets appear much more modern compared to the old wooden trim it had. Along with refacing the cabinets, I decided to change the wood handles to satin nickel handles.

Second, I wanted to replace the Corian countertops with a dark granite, which I felt would provide a nice contrast to the white cabinets. Since I was replacing the countertops, I decided to change the backplash from a shiny blue tile to a natural stone tile, which would blend in much better with the rest of the kitchen as well as with the travertine floors.

Finally, I wanted to change the lighting from the older florescent lights to recessed lighting. This would, again, make the kitchen look much more up to date and provide better lighting. Additionally, I wanted to hang two spot lights right above the center kitchen island to provide a some depth and accent to the kitchen.

In the end, I was able to accomplish all three of my goals. If I had to give some advice to update a kitchen like this, it would be to hire 3 people: a painter (for the cabinets), an electrician (for the lighting), and a general contractor (for the ceiling sheet rock, countertop removal/installation, and backsplash removal/installation). Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the final product on my computer, but I will upload them as soon as I find them so you can see how my vision turned out.

1. I would like my kitchen remodeled with new cabinets, countertops, stainless steel appliances, new flooring (open to suggestions), and i would really like an island put in as well. Can i get some new silverware with that too?

2. I need my kitchen remodeled with new stainless steel appliances, new flooring (open to suggestions), new lighting, new cabs., new countertops, and i definitely want an island. Can you throw in some new china or silverware too please.

3. Wow! Hard to believe that's the same kitchen. Do you have any photos taken from another angle, i.e. the same as the before shots? Nice work!
