My goal with landscape design is to present a pallet of color, texture and interest all year round. I always include a combination of colorful evergreens along with long blooming perennials to supply interest during the different seasons. Also curving bedlines and a bit of hardscape such as a boulder will add some dimension to the garden. This design involved re-vamping an old cement patio into a whole new entertaining space. The stone used is crab orchard set on a 4 " concrete slab with mortar joints. The old trex steps were removed and a radial step was constructed out of the same crab orchard stone. I also included a garden cut out for a summer herb garden which also softened the area next to the house and added interest to the space.
