I wanted to add some texture and old-fashioned charm to our backsplash area, so we decided to install thin brick pavers. We actually had a friend who owned a wet saw to install the pavers {he knew how to make small, difficult cuts in the pavers}, but we grouted and paved them afterward. The backsplash now really makes the kitchen feel much older than it really is, and painting it white gives it a nice, clean, crisp feel. The bricks were about .50 each - not bad for a backsplash with character!
Our goal: Adding texture and old-fashioned charm to our backspash area - and on a small budget!
Our biggest challenge: Getting the grout down into those thick grooves was HARD, not to mention messy!
Our greatest accomplishment: Creating a charming backsplash that added years to our kitchen and $$$ to our wallet!
