~ Cottage Ceiling Windows

My cottage studio once had old skylights that were removed when we replaced our roof. This left four ugly plywood holes in the ceiling and I wasn't sure how I could make them look attractive until we could afford to redo the entire ceiling someday down the road. Replacing them was not an option because as usual, our budget is so tiny it's practically nonexistent.

Our solution? We turned those ugly plywood holes into "windows"! I painted a sky background and then my husband trimmed them out to make them look realistic. It was a relatively easy and inexpensive fix to a major eyesore!

Our goal: To camouflage the ugly holes left in our ceiling after removing the skylights

Biggest challenge: Getting the sky background just right was a little tricky!

Greatest accomplishment: Adding more cottage style to the space very inexpensively
