~ French Doors and Windows for a Dark Kitchen and Dining Room

Our kitchen and dining room was a nice basic space, but it was severely lacking light. With only one lone single french door on the east side, even mornings seemed dreadfully dark. By knocking out the majority of the walls on the east side of the kitchen and installing a double french door in the kitchen area and two windows in the dining area, the room is now absolutely flooded with light each morning and for most of the day. I think it gave our kitchen/dining area a completely different feel. Even if we did nothing else, this is one project that I'm so glad we tackled!
Our goal: To let as much light into our dark and dreary kitchen as possible
Our biggest challenge: Getting the new doors and windows completely straight so that they would open and close properly.
Our greatest accomplishment: Getting everything put back together just right before the rained rolled in!
