Fixing Shingles

Shingles tend to tell you when they need replacement before actual problems occur. If you make an annual appointment with your roof and pay close attention to the warning signs, you can avoid disaster before it begins.

Signs that a shingle needs to be replaced are:

1. Warped
2. Bald
3. Blistered
4. Curled
5. Missing (as if you couldn't have figured that one out)

Provided you aren't afraid of being on the roof, fixing shingles isn't all that difficult. Again, if heights or the angle of your roof give you pause, hire a pro and let him or her take the risk while you go eat a sandwich. For those of you brave enough to gambol across the eaves, here are some handy tips to keep your roof from letting you down.
